Colleen is a dynamic educator and performer with a multi-disciplinary background.  Carrying a BMUS in Piano Performance from University of Utah and a BA in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication from Cal State Long Beach, her diverse and unique skill set allows her to connect with students and audiences of all personality types and ages.  After her completing her first degree, her love of the mountains led her to Salt Lake City.  There she worked as a member of the piano faculty at the Utah Conservatory in Park City, staff pianist and accompanist for the Park City Community Church, and honed her culinary skills on the weekends as a part-time sushi chef.

Colleen then pursued her passion for music pedagogy and performance through professional training at the University of Utah, and quickly earned an artistic reputation through her many recitals and performances in and around Salt Lake City.  She made her symphonic debut in the Salt Lake Symphony Concerto Winners' Concert, then gave a series of "...lyrical yet powerful" interpretations of Beethoven's famous Emperor Concerto with Maestro Joel Rosenberg and the American West Symphony.  If not practicing for a performance, she was teaching students of the University of Utah Preparatory Division and Piano Outreach Programs.

Colleen's  passion for teaching, combined with her  entrepreneurial mindset, led her to establish Sharpe Piano Studio in 2010.   Aside from managing her vibrant studio, she serves as board member of the Lakewood-Cerritos branch of the Music Teachers' Association of California, promoting excellence in music education throughout her local community.
